Santos Agency Recalling Flours, Legumes, and Spices for Undeclared Peanuts and Wheat

Santos Agency is recalling Santos Brand products, including various flours, legumes, and spices because they may contain undeclared peanuts and wheat. Consumers who are allergic to those ingredients may have a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The products were shipped to retail stores only in California and distributed between May 2011 and May 2012. There are no UPC codes, lot codes, or expiration dates on the products. You can see the list of recalled products at the FDA site.

Different kinds of flours, legumes, and spices were cross packaged on shared equipment with peanuts and wheat flour. These products do not contain peanuts or wheat themselves, but may have traces of those ingredients through contact with the same processing equipment.

No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with the consumption of these products. If you have purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts or wheat, return to the Santos Agency for a full refund. For questions, call 510-357-0177 Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm PST.
