Spence & Co Recalls Smoked Salmon for Possible Listeria

Spence & Co of Massachusetts is recalling smoked salmon for possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

The products being recalled include BJ’s Wholesale Club, Wellsley Farms brand 16 ounce Nova. The salmon was sold in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio on June 13, 2012. The other recalled product is Spence & Co Ltd brand 8 ounce Smoked Salmon Trim. That product was sold at Krogers and King Soopers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah between June 22, 2012 and June 29, 2012.

The recall affects 576 packs of Wellsley Farms 16 ounce Nova batch 60704701 and 119 packs of Spence & Co Ltd 8 ounce Smoked Salmon Trim. The problem was discovered during routine sampling. For questions, call the consumer number 508-427-5577 Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET.
