Top Nosh Farmer’s Market Pies Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Piccadilly Fine Foods of California is recalling 79 pounds of chicken and yam pies because they may contain a curry paste that was made with shrimp, one of the major food allergens. Shrimp was not declared as an ingredient on the food label.

The recalled products are shipping cases with 24 “Top Nosh Farmer’s Market Chicken and Yam with Coconut Curry Pies”, and individual 5.5 ounce “Top Nosh Farmer’s Market Chicken and Yam with Coconut Curry Pies.” Each package has the establishment number “P-9216” on the USDA mark of inspection. And each package has the lot code 184-12.

Products were produced on June 29, 2012, and sold to a San Jose California distributor for further distribution. The retail distribution list can be found at the FSIS website. It was released today in PDF form.

The problem was discovered during a routine label review. There have not been any reports of adverse reactions associated with the consumption of this product. For questions, call the company’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Coordinator, David Hansen, at 408-246-1200.
