Wegmans Recalls Chilled Prepared Foods Made with Gills Onions

Wegmans Food Markets in Pennsylvania is recalling prepared foods that contain chopped and diced white onions as an ingredient because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  The products include stew, pizza, blue cheese dip, and crab dip. You can see all of the recalled products at the FDA web site.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of these products. The products were sold only at three Pennsylvania stores: Downingtown from 7/11 through 7/26/2012, Collegeville from 7/18 through 7/26/12, and Allentown from 7/19 through 7/26/2012. Some of the products were ready to cook at home and others were only available through special order at the deli counter.

If you have any of these products, do not eat them, but return them to the store for a full refund. For more questions or concerns, call Wegmans at 800-934-6267 and ask for consumer affairs from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.
