Cloverdale Beef Franks Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Cloverdale Foods is recalling about 2,664 pounds of beef franks because they contain milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declard on the label. The produce is misbranded. No reports of illness have been reported due to the consumption of this product.

The products are 16-ounce packages of Cloverdale Meats “Seattle Mariners Beef Franks” and 12 pound cases containing 12 packages of individual 16-ounce packages of the franks. The products were made on November 23 and December 13, 2013, with use-by dates of February 21 and March 13, 2014 respectively. The package code is “Use by 2-21-14” or “Use by 3-13-14”. The establishment number “Est. 7603” is inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were sold to retail establishments in Montana, North Dakota, and Washington state.

An internal review at the company uncovered the problem. Non-fat dry milk is used as an ingredient. The newly designed label included an incorrect ingredient statement. If you purchased this product and are allergic to milk, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
