Pumpkin Seeds Recalled for Undeclared Sulfites

Starway Incorporated of New York is recalling pumpkin seeds because they contain undeclared sulfites. Anyone with a severe sensitivity to sulfites could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. The consumption of more than 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving can cause severe reactions, including anaphylactic shock in some asthmatics and those who are very sensitive to the compound. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The product is Peony Mark Brand Roasted and Salted Pumpkin Seeds in a 12 ounce (340 gram) clear, un-coded plastic bag. The UPC number isĀ 6 932692225765. It is a product of China. The product was distributed nationwide.
