Whole Foods Salad Recall for Undeclared Allergens

Whole-Foods-salad-recallWhole Foods is recalling mini Caesar salad and mini Mesclun Goat Cheese salads sold yesterday in three states for undeclared allergens of nuts, fish and egg. People with allergies to these ingredients should not eat these salads as the may experience a serious allergic reaction.

Labels on the recalled pre-packaged salads were accidentally swapped so the salad marked Cesar contains undeclared nuts and the salad market Mesclun Goat Cheese contains undeclared fish and egg.

The recalled salads were sold in 4 oz. containers on July 8 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.. The products have “Sell by” dates of: 7/11/14.

Not all Whole Foods stores in these states are affected. Stores in Princeton, Cherry Hill and Marlton, New Jersey  are excluded as are stores in Glastonbury, West Hartford and Bishop’s Corner, Connecticut. Signage is posted in affected Whole Foods Market stores to notify customers of this recall, and all affected product has been removed from shelves.

Consumers who have purchased this product can bring their receipt to the store for a full refund.
