American Pure Whey Recalled for Undeclared Milk and Soy

American Pure Whey or North Carolina is recalling its whey protein products because they contain milk and soy, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to those ingredients could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. No reactions have been reported to date.

Pure Whey Protein RecallThese products were distributed to Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington state, Wisconsin, and West Virginia and also through mail order. They are available in 2 and 5 pound containers and in factory sealed food grade mylar bags. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA web site.

The recalled products all have expiration dates of 9/2017. They are American Pure Whey Protein Matrix in Chocolate with lot number 69205 and UPC number 456456789004; Vanilla, with lot number 69205 and UPC number 783521095013; Chocolate with lot number 29026 and UPC number 753182812809; and Vanilla with lot number 29026 and UPC number 78333109591.

Also recalled is Body Construct Meal Replacement in Cinnamon Roll flavor, with lot number 78124 and UPC number 839893989858. Finally, Build Your Own Body Protein Powder in Chocolate flavor is recalled, with lot number 67134 and UPC number 456789517480.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to milk and/or soy, do not consume them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund, or discard them.
