Anchovy Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Gluten

Sun Fung Foods and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are recalling Marine Food brand Japanese Style Anchovy because it has undeclared gluten. Gluten, the protein found in wheat, causes allergic reactions in those allergic to that ingredient and causes health problems in celiac patients. There is no word on whether or not any reactions have been reported in connection with the consumption of this product.

RecallFPBThe recalled product was sold in Ontario. It is Marine Food Japanese Style Anchovy in 130 gram containers. All packages where gluten is not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number of the recalled product isĀ 4 891214 595576.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to gluten or have celiac disease, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
