Angry Orchard Recalls Hard Cider for Bursting Bottles

Angry Orchard Cider Company of Cincinnati is recalling some cases, 12-packs and 6-packs of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider for bottles for re-fermentation that is causing bottles to break and overflow. The recalled bottles were produced on June 15 and June 29, 2015.

angry-orchard-recallThe company is working with wholesalers and retailers to remove all impacted cases of from store shelves. They were distributed to: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Recalled 12-packs have a codes beginning June 2016 1665C followed by 4 digits ranging from 0001 through 0700 or June 2016 1805C followed by 4 digits ranging from 0001 to 0545.

On individual bottles an inkjet code printed directly on the glass, on the “shoulder” of the bottle ranges from C16650001 to C16650530 or C18050001 through C18050415.

Recalled bottles should be disposed of carefully. The company is offering free refunds to all customers who purchased recalled bottles.
