Bravo Dog and Cat Food Recalled for Salmonella

Puppy Eating Dog FoodBravo Pet Foods of Manchester, CT is recalling some lots of Bravo Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. The pet food recall was issued after the Colorado State Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in a package of Bravo Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats during routine testing.

The recall includes: Bravo Blend Chicken diet for dogs and cats packaged in 2 lb. (32 oz.) chubs with “sell by” date 11/13/16 and UPC 829546314019. It was sold to distributors, retail stores and directly to customers through internet sales.

Products that did not test positive for Salmonella but were manufactured on the same day are also being recalled. They include: Bravo Blend Chicken diet for dogs and cats sold in 5 lb chubs with the UPC 829546211059; Bravo Blend Turkey diet for dogs and cats packages n %lb bags of patties with the UPC 829546315085 and Bravo Balance Turkey diet for dogs in 3 lb bags of patties with the UPC 829546314019.

At the time of the recall, the company said it had received no reports of illness. Pet food contaminated with Salmonella can cause illness in the pets that eat it and the humans who handle it.
