Brigham Fish Market Recalls Canned Salmon for Possible Botulism

Brigham Fish Market is recalling canned salmon for possible Clostridium botulinum contamination. These products were made by Skipanon Brand Seafoods and may have been under processed, increasing the probability that the cans contain botulism toxin. No illnesses have been reported to date.

This secondary recall, one of seven so far, is for Brigham Fish Market’s 6 ounce Canned Smoked Chinook Salmon and 6 ounce Canned Chinook Salmon.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The symptoms of botulism food poisoning include difficulty speaking or swallowing, dizziness, difficulty breathing, double vision, and general weakness. If you experience these symptoms, go to an emergency room immediately.
