Champ’s Mushrooms Recalled for Listeria

Champ’s Sliced Crimini Mushrooms are being recalled for Listeria. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall but consumers who have purchased thus product should not eat it as they risk serious and sometimes fatal infection if they do.

mushroom-recallSymptoms of a Listeria infection high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Those most at risk include young children, seniors, those with weakened immune systems and pregnant women. Among pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

The recalled product was sold in Washington and Oregon from 06/13/15 to 06/14/15  in 8 oz packages with the UPC 6 78286 88877 5.

Retail stores should remove the product from shelves and consumers who have already purchased it should not eat it.
