Cornmeal Products Recalled for Foreign Materials

The Morrison Milling Company is recalling some of their cornmeal products because they could contain fragments of flexible metal mesh. A faulty screen at the production facility could have deposited the metal in the products. Their production lines have magnets and metal detection devices, but some of the pieces of the mesh or fine wire could be too small to be detected. There have been no injuries or complaints reported to date.

Recall SignageYou can see the long line of recalled products at the FDA web site, along with package sizes. The recalled products include cornmeal, cornbread mix, corn-kits, buttermilk pancake mixes, self-rising cornmeal, and fish fry mixes, among others. The brands recalled include Morrison’s, Parade, HEB, Fiesta Mart, Pioneer, Great Value, and Hill Country Fare.

If you purchased any of these products, do not use them or consume them. Throw them away or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
