Fresca Italian Recalls Pork Produced Without Import Inspection

Fresca Italian of California is recalling 36 pounds of pork products produced in Italy that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled items are 3 ounce sealed trays of “Maestri Authentic Italian Salumi prosciutto italiano”, “Prosciutto di San Daniele”, and “Maestri Authentic Italian Salumi speck.” The products have the establishment number “CEIT 649L” inside the Italian mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in California. You can see pictures of product labels at the USDA web site.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
