Gelato Fresco Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Almonds

Gelato Fresco and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are recalling Gelato Fresco brand Toasted Hazelnut Dairy Ice because it may contain almonds, or tree nuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone allergic to that ingredient could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or reactions have been received to date in association with the consumption of this product.

The recalled product is Gelato Fresco brand name Toasted Hazelnut Dairy Ice in 500 ml containers. The code on the product is 4745 and the UPC number isĀ 0 67902 50002 1. It was sold in Ontario at the retail level.

If you purchased the product and are allergic to almonds, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
