Greenland Trading Recalls Squab Produced Without Inspection

Greenland Trading Company of New Jersey is recalling about 12,672 pounds of squab produced without the benefit of inspection. The squab (domesticated pigeon) was imported from France. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Recall SignageThe squab was imported from a French establishment that was not eligible to export meat or poultry to the United States. It was imported June 21, 2014, August 16, 2014, and February 16, 2015. The recalled product is 8.8 pound cardboard boxes containing 12 individually wrapped squab weighing less than one pound. The squab is labeled “Al Maraai Squab Halal.”

The products have the establishment number “79.213.004 CE” on the box. They were processed by Earl Piegonneaux Fermier Du Poitou of Sauvian France. If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
