JEM Raw Organic Nut Spreads Recalled in Canada Too

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Antony and Sons, Raw Elements Inc. are recalling JEM raw organic brand nut spreads for possible Salmonella contamination. These products have been linked to a Salmonella outbreak in the United States, but no illnesses have been reported to date in Canada.

You can see the long list of recalled products at the CFIA web site. They included Almond Spread, Hazelnut Spread, and Cashew Spread in various flavors and package sizes. The product codes and UPC numbers are also available at that site. The products were sold nationwide as well as through internet sales.

If you purchased any of these items, do not eat them, even if some of the product has been consumed and no one has gotten sick. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged package or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
