Northwest Farm Cat Food Recalled for Salmonella

Northwest Farm Food Cooperative of Washington is recalling frozen raw cat food because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No pet or consumer illnesses from this product have been reported to date.

Cat Food Poisoning Bulletin.comThe recalled product has the production code Jul12015B. It was sold in 50 pound blocks and cases of six 10 pound chubs, packaged in a white plastic bag labeled Cat Food. There is no UPC number. The production code is found on the outside of the case.  It was sold from Northwest Farm Food Cooperative at 1370 S. Anacortes Street in Burlington, Washington 98233.

Pets with Salmonella could be lethargic and have diarrhea that may be bloody, fever, and vomiting. Some pets can be carriers and be infected but show no symptoms; they can pass the bacteria to other animals and people. People with Salmonella infection shave diarrhea that may be bloody, nausea, vomiting, cramps, and fever.

If you purchased this product, do not give it to your pet. Discard in a sealed container so other animals can’t eat it, or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
