Ocean’s Halo Seaweed Chips Recalled for Undeclared Allergen

New Frontier Foods of California is voluntarily recalling six days of production of Ocean’s Halo Gluten Free Seaweed Chips produced at a third party manufacturer because they may contain wheat, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. People with celiac disease and those who are allergic to wheat could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No reports of illnesses have been received to date.

The recalled products include Ocean’s Halo The Organic Seaweed Chip Sea Salt flavor in 2.5 ounce bags/12 count boxes. The outer case UPC number is 10851899005174 and the bag UPC number is 8 51899 00517 74. The lot numbers are 082416, 091416, 091516, and 091616.

Also recalled are Ocean’s Halo The Organic Seaweed Chip in Chili Lime flavor in 2.5 ounce bags/12 count boxes. The outer case UPC number is 10851899005198 and the individual bag UPC number is 8 51899 00519 1. The lot number is 091716.

Finally, Ocean’s Halo The Organic Seaweed Chip Korean BBQ flavor is recalled, in 2.5 ounce bags/12 count boxes. The outer case UPC number is 10851899005181 and the individual bag UPC number is 8 51899 00518 4. The lot numbers of the recalled products are 082416, 091516, 091616, and 092116.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to wheat or have celiac disease, do not eat them. Throw them away or return to the place of purchase for a full refund. For people who do not have celiac disease or are not allergic to wheat, these products are safe to eat.
