Ohanyan’s SOUJOUK Dried Beef Sausage Recalled for Undeclared Soy

Ohanyan’s Bastirma & Soujouk Co. of California is recalling 159,291 pounds of sausage products because they contain soy, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. People who are allergic to soy could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled items are 1-pound cryovac packages of SOUJOUK Dried Beef Sausage Hot & Spicy with plant EST. 5867-A, and 1-pound cryovac packages of SOUJOUK Dried Beef Sausage Mild with Plant Est. 5867-A. They were produced on various dates from April 30, 2014 through April 30, 2015. The sausages have the sell-by date printed on the product label. They were shipped to distributors, retailers, and consumers nationwide.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to soy, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
