Shrimp Products Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Allergens

Choice Canning Company in Canada is recalling Tastee Choice brand Shrimp Sorrentino and Shrimp Fried Rice because they may contain milk and gluten, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to or sensitive to those ingredients, including celiac patients, may have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled products are both Tastee Choice brand. The first is Shrimp Sorrentino in 680 gram packages. All codes where milk is not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number of that product isĀ 7 46167 84001 0. Also recalled is Shrimp Fried Rice in 680 gram packages. All codes where milk and gluten are not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number for that product is 7 46167 84004 1. You can see pictures of product labels at the CFIA web site. The products were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and possibly nationally.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to milk and/or gluten, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
