Trader Joe’s Salads Recalled for Undeclared Nitrites

Huxtable’s Kitchen of Washington state is recalling 778 pounds of salad because they are misbranded. The products may contain nitrites in the bacon that were not declared on the label. No reports of adverse reactions have been received to date.

The recalled products were made on July 14 and July 16, 2015. They are a 9.5 ounce tray of “Trader Joe’s Cobb Salad” with sell by dates 7-20-15, 7-21-15, and 7-22-15. Also recalled is 11 ounce tray containers with “Trader Joe’s Uncured Bacon and Spinach Salad” with sell-by dates of 7-20-15 and 7-21-15. They have the establishment number “P-11079A” or “EST. 11079” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington state.

If you purchased these items and are sensitive to nitrites, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
