Zenobia Recalls Ground Flax Seed Meal for Salmonella

Zenobia Company of New York is recalling Ground Flax Seed Meal because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

Ground Flax Seed Meal Salmonella RecallThe recalled product is Ground Flax Seed Meal packages in resealable plastic bags. The product comes in these sizes: 4 ounce with UPC number00575004, 16 ounce with UPC number 00575016, and 50 pounds bulk with UPC numberĀ 00575111. The product was sold nationwide through online mail order between 6/15/15 and 11/4/15.

The company’s supplier notified them that the product was shipped to them unknowingly. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a double bagged or sealed container so other people and animals can’t eat it, or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea that may be bloody, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. If you have consumed this product and experience these symptoms, see your doctor and tell her about this recall.
