A Bit of a Bite Salsa Recalled; Making Food Without a License

The FDA’s Enforcement Report for the week of January 20, 2016 reveals some recalls that are not released to the public in the usual manner. Garden Harvest was allegedly manufacturing acidified foods without a license, according to that report. These foods can be risky unless they are properly manufactured and inspected.

Recall NoticesThe recalled products are A Bit of a Bite Sala Heiney Hot Salsa in 128 ounce jars, with Lot # 24325. Also recalled is A Bit of a Bite Salsa Melissa Medium, net weight 128 ounces, with Lot # 253255. A Bit of a Bite Salsa Sarah Sweet is also recalled, sold in 128 ounce jars with Lot #263245. Finally, A Bit of a Bite Salsa Three Sisters in 128 ounce jars with Lot #27315 is recalled.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
