Ajinomoto Windsor Updates Recall of Frozen Veggies for Listeria

Ajinomoto Windsor is updating its recall of some not ready to eat frozen foods because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. This is a secondary recall because these products contain vegetables that are part of the CRF Frozen Fodos Recall. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

Recall

You can see the long list of products recalled, including the product numbers and pack size at the FDA web site. Some of the recalled products include Battered Veggie Fries, Shrimp Fried Rice, Petite Peas, Organic Sweet Corn, Battered Corn Nugget, and Battered Vegetables Sticks, among others. The brand names of the recalled products include Wahoo, Fred’s, Ponderosa, Golden Value, Molly’s Kitchen, Tai Pei, VIP, Old Park Southwest, Ajinomoto, Minh, Jade Mountain, Trader Joe’s, First Street, and Hy Vee. They were distributed in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund. Then clean your freezer or refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria.

If you ate any of these recalled products, even if they were cooked, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, flu-like symptoms, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. If you do experience any of these symptoms, see your doctor.
