Ashland Food Recalls Organic Raw Macadamia Nuts for Salmonella

Ashland Food Co-op in Ashland, Oregon is recalling Organic Raw Macadamia nuts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product. The Co-op was notified by their supplier of the bulk Organic Raw Macadamia nut recall.

The Co-op sold the Organic Raw Macadamia nuts in random weight bags between January 5, 2016 and February 4, 2016. The nuts have a one month shelf life if refrigerated. They were packaged in clear cellophane bags of different weights with an AFC bulk label.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Some consumers may have the nuts in their freezer. Throw the nuts away, even if you plan to use them in cooked recipes, in a sealed or double bagged container. Or you can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
