Barilla Pasta Recalled for Foreign Material

The FDA’s Weekly Enforcement Report for the week of January 6, 2016 has been released. These are recalls that are not released in the usual manner. This week, four types of Barilla pasta have been recalled for the presence of aluminum fragments.

Recall SignageThe recalled products were sold in Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. They include Barilla Medium Shells in 1 pound packages with lot code 5745U05, Barilla Pronto Penne in 12 ounce packages with lot codes 5745U05 and 5755U05, Barilla Penne in 1 pound boxes with lot codes 5755U05 and 5765U05 sold at club stores, and Barilla Penne Rigate for FoodService with lot codes 5755U05 and 5765U05.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
