Blue Bell Recalls Ice Cream for Undeclared Allergens

Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling lots of Rocky Road pints because they may be mispackaged and actually contain Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream, which contains soy and wheat. Those ingredients are two of the  major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to soy/and or wheat or has a severe sensitivity to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Blue Bell Ice Cream AllergenThe recalled products are identified as a Rocky Road pint with a Cookies ‘n Cream lid, and contain Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream. They have the following code on the bottom of the lid: 022918576. These pints were distributed in Texas and Louisiana through retail outlets, including food service accounts, convenience stores, and supermarkets.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy and/or wheat, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. There is no health or safety concerns except for those people who are allergic to those two ingredients.
