Bounce Energy Balls Recalled in Canada for Possible Listeria

Natural High Co., trading as Bounce Foods, is recalling Apple Cinnamon Protein Punch Energy Bars for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

The recalled products are Bounce Apple Cinnamon Protein Punch Energy Ball in two sizes. The first is sold in 42 gram packages. All best before dates from 29OCT16 up to and including 06MAR17 are recalled. The UPC number is 8 52949 00342 6. Also recalled is Apple Cinnamon Protein Punch Energy Balls in 12 x 42 gram packages. All best before dates from 29OCT16 up to and including 06MAR17 are recalled. The UPC number for that product is 8 52949 00347 1. These products were sold nationally at the retail level.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container or take them back to the store where you bought them for a refund. Then clean out your drawers, pantry, or wherever you stored the item with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria.

If you ate these recalled products, watch yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, severe headache, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stiff neck, and muscle aches. Pregnant women, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems are at risk for serious complications with this infection. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
