Cape Cod Provisions Recalls Candy for Undeclared Almonds

cranberry recallCape Cod Provisions LLC of Pocasset, MA is recalling Cape Cod Cranberry Candy and Harvest Sweets Milk Chocolate/Dark Chocolate/Yogurt Covered Cranberry Blend because they may contain undeclared yogurt covered almonds. Consumers with almond allergies should not eat these products as the risk life-threatening reaction if they do.

The recalled Cape Cod Cranberry Candy has the UPC 6 12681 10259 3 and the recalled Harvest Sweets have the UPC 6 12681 44259 0.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide through retail stores and mail order. It was sold in a ” 5oz. gable-top box with color graphics and can be identified by a lot # of 5230-1 on the inside bag,” according to recall information provided by the company.

At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported. The problem was attributed to a temporary breakdown in the packaging processes.
