Chili Pepper Recall in Canada for Salmonella Updated

The recall of Canada Herb brand fresh chili peppers in Canada has been updated to include additional product information. Only fresh chili peppers imported by Canada Herb and sold from June 19, 2016 to July 5, 2016 are affected by this recall.

The product was sold in clear plastic bags with the name “Canada Herb”, or it may have been sold in bulk or in smaller packages with or without a label. The chili peppers may not bear the brand or product name. If you aren’t sure if you purchased this product, check with your retailer. They should be able to tell you if they carried the recalled item. The recalled product is Canada Herb fresh chili peppers. The packages may be about 454 grams. There were no codes on the product and no UPC number.

This recall was triggered by CFIA test results. The government is conducting a food safety investigation, which may trigger other recalls.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
