Dried Apricots Recalled for Undeclared Sulfites

Best Cash & Carry of Maspeth, New York is recalling Rose brand Dry Apricots imported from Turkey because they contain undeclared sulfites, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with a sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

RecallThe recalled product is Rose Brand Dry Apricot (Turkey) in uncoded, 7 ounce plastic bags and 5 pound clear plastic bags. They were sold in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving can cause anaphylactic shock in some people with asthma. This product contains 250 mg of sulfite per serving, according to testing conducted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
