Dried Yellow Fish Recalled for Possible Botulism

WD Import and Export of Brooklyn, New York is recalling bulk unlabeled cardboard boxes of Dried Yellow Fish because it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum bacteria. This bacteria can cause life-threatening illness or death. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

Recall WarningThe product, Dried Yellow Fish, was sold in bulk unlabeled and un-coded cardboard boxes. It is a product of China. The fish was sold in retail stores in New York City. The fish was not properly eviscerated before it was packaged for sale. The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspection confirmed the fish was not properly processed.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed or doubled bagged package so other people and animals can’t eat it, or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

The symptoms of botulism poisoning include blurred or double vision, general weakness, dizziness, trouble speaking, and trouble swallowing. If you experience any of these symptoms, see a doctor immediately.
