FDA Lists Salads Recalled in Dole Listeria Monocytogenes Outbreak

The FDA has listed salad products that have been recalled in the ongoing Dole prepackaged salad Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. This list of salads is not necessarily complete. Consumers need to know that any salads that have a manufacturing code beginning with the letter “A” were produced at the Dole plant in Ohio and have been recalled.

Green SaladThe types of salad blends produced at the Springfield Ohio plane include American salads, arugula salads, Asian salads, bacon and bleu cheese salads, BBQ Ranch salads, Caesar salads, chipotle and cheddar salads, coleslaw, field green salads, and garden salads. They also include iceberg salads, Italian blend salads, kale salads, lettuce salads, Mediterranean salads, romaine salads, sesame ginger salads, Southwest salads, spinach salads, spring mix salads, spinach salads, sunflower salads, and vegetable blend salads.

The salads have been known to have been distributed to the following states, but there may have been further distribution to other states. The states that received the salads include, but are not limited to: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The salads were sold at Giant, Kroger, ALDI, Price Chopper, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Schnucks, Meijer, ShopRite, Stop n Shop, Food 4 Less, Jay C, FoodsCo, PriceRite and other stores.

The symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning include flu-like symptoms, muscle aches, upset stomach, diarrhea, stiff neck, headache, loss of balance, confusion, or convulsions. Pregnant women may only have a mild, flu-like illness, but listeriosis an cause miscarriage, stillbirth, premature labor, and a serious infection in the newborn baby. Symptoms usually begin within a few weeks of exposure to the bacteria, but some people don’t become ill for up to 70 days. If you ate Dole recalled salads and have experienced these symptoms, contact your doctor and tell her about it.

    Don’t go to UVA hospital emergency room with symptoms because all they will do is take your vitals and send you home without running any tests smh

      You might want to go to Urgent Care or call your primary care doctor about this. Just stay well.
