Food Recall Roundup for Week Ending August 21, 2016

The Food Recall Roundup for the week ending August 21, 2016 includes whiskey glasses, more veggies recalled for Listeria, and a recall of scallops linked to a hepatitis A outbreak in Hawaii.

Oriental Packing Company updated their recall of curry powder products for lead on August 20, 2016 to include more types.

Three brands of frozen corn produced by Cambridge Farms of Pennsylvania were recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination on August 20, 2016. Those brands include Laura Lynn Frozen Cut Corn in two sizes; Kay Food Frozen Cut Corn, and Better Value Frozen Cut Corn. No illnesses have been reported.

Sea Pork Products recalled frozen Bay Scallops harvested in the Philippines that have been linked to a hepatitis A outbreak in Hawaii on August 18, 2016. The scallops were not sold to consumers at the retail level, but to restaurants in California, Hawaii, and Nevada. The hepatitis A outbreak linked to those scallops has sickened at least 206 people in Hawaii.

Croissants made by Bakers of Paris and sold at Whole Foods stores in California were recalled for undeclared egg on August 18, 2016.

Parker Lee brand Teriyaki Fish Rice Bowl was recalled in Canada for undeclared wheat on August 17, 2106.

Nutribar Original Chocolate Supreme Meal Replacement Powder was recalled in Canada for undeclared egg, on August 16, 2016.

Deli-Shop brand chopped cook ham was recalled in Canada for undeclared milk, soy, mustard, and wheat on August 15, 2016. Anyone with celiac disease, lactose intolerance, or those allergic to those ingredients should avoid this product.

Whiskey glass and stone sets were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission on August 15, 2016, for a laceration hazard. The glasses can spontaneously break, posing an injury risk.
