Gardner Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

Recall chalkboardGardner Pie Company of Akron, Ohio is recalling Cheesecakes and Key Lime Pies because they may contain undeclared peanut residue. The recalled items were sold at the Gardner retail outlet store between April 11, 2016 and June 14, 2016.

At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported. However, consumers who have a peanut allergy should not eat these products as they risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they do.

Gardner Pie Company initiated the recall after its supplier, Kellogg Company, recalled certain lots of Graham Crumbs made with flour potentially contamnated with peanut residue.

The recalled products were sold at theĀ Gardner Pie Company Retail Outlet store at 191 Logan Pkwy Akron, OH 44319. The items were packaged in white pastry boxes that do not receive any code dating at the point of sale. The Cheesecakes and Key Lime Pies are packaged in aluminum pie pans with clear covers. No other Gardner Pie Company products are affected by this voluntary recall.
