Giant Eagle Recalls Cod Fillets for Undeclared Soy

Giant Eagle and Market District Supermarkets are recalling Giant Eagle brand Japanese Code Fillets that are prepared and sold from the Seafood department for undeclared soy, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to soy could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There are no confirmed illnesses reported to date associated with this recall.

The recalled product is Giant Eagle brand Japanese Breaded Cod Fillets sold through February 4, 2016. About 420 packages of the product were purchased by customers in Giant Eagle and Market District supermarkets in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The UPC number of the recalled product begins with 268106. The product label for the fillets, which contain soy, omitted soy as an allergen. All lot codes up to and including February 8, 2016 are included in the recall.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
