HEB, Central Markets Frozen Veggies Recalled for Listeria

Twin City Foods of Washington is voluntarily recalling items containing organic peas it received from CRF Frozen Foods, which may be contaminated with Listeria bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these specific products.

Central Market Mixed Vegetables Listeria RecallThe recalled products are Central Markets Organic Green Peas in 16 ounce packages, with UPC number 4122010240 and packing code Best Used By DEC.09.2017. Also recalled is Central Markets Organics Green Peas in 12 ounce packages, with UPC number 4122081674 and Best Used By JAN.08.2018. Central Markets Organics Mixed Vegetables in 16 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 4122010249 and Best Used By DEC.05.2017 and JAN.11.2018.

HEB Organics Mixed Vegetables in 16 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 4122004013 and Best Used By MAR.04.2018 and MAR.25.2018. Sweetfrost Mixed Vegetables is recalled, with UPC number 7307381875 and packing code 20886. Finally, Woodstock Organic Mixed Vegetables in 10 ounce packages is recalled. The UPC number for that product is 4256300160 and the Best Used By JAN.11.2018. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA web site. They were shipped to distribution centers in California, Texas, and Washington state.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them even if you cook them first. Return them to the place of purchase or throw them away in a sealed container. Then clean out your freezer and/or refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill any bacteria. Wash your hands after handling these products.

If you ate any of these products, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pains. If you do get sick, see your doctor and tell her you ate these recalled products.
