HEB Expands Recall of Pistachios for Salmonella

HEB is expanding their recall of raw pistachios for possible Salmonella contamination to include a product made with those nuts. The newly recalled product is Nut Butter that was made in a limited number of HEB stores. No reports of illness have been received to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

The recalled product is sold in prepackaged plastic containers labeled Fireside Roasted Nut Butter or in-store nut grinders specified for Fireside Roasted Nut Butter. The UPC number on the product isĀ 27009800000, and the best by date is 1/1/2017.

The recall is limited to stores in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas. You can see the addresses of the stores that carried this recalled product at the FDA web site.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a secure garbage can or double bagged package so other people and animals can’t eat it, or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
