Hill Country Fare Ground Beef Recalled for Metal Pieces

Sam Kane Beef Processors of Corpus Christi, Texas has issued a recall for 60,350 pounds of Hill Country Fare ground beef products that may be contaminated with metal pieces.  Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them.

The  recalled ground beef packages were produced on July 26. They include: 10-lb chubs of  “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and a case code number 00090180; 5-lb chubs of “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and a case code number 00090150; 3-lb  chubs of “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and a case code number 00090170.

The establishment number “EST. 337” appears inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the product packaging seam of all recalled products. They were shipped to three HEB Grocery distribution centers in Texas.

The problem was discovered by a consumer. At the time of the recall, no injuries had been reported.
