Hill Country Fare Ground Beef Recalled for Possible Metal Fragments

Sam Kane Beef Processors of Texas is recalling about 60,350 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with metal pieces. The products were shipped to three HEB Grocery distribution centers in Texas. The problem was discovered when a consumer complained about a small piece of metal in the ground beef. No confirmed of adverse reactions have been received to date.

The recalled products were produced on July 26, 2016. They include 10 pound chubs containing “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and bearing case code number 00090180. Also recalled are 5 pound chubs containing “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and bearing case code number 00090150. Finally 3 pound chubs containing “Hill Country Fare Ground Beef” 73% Lean/27% Fat with a Packed On date of 7/26/2016, a Use-By date of 8/15/2016, and bearing case code number 00090170 are recalled.

The products have the establishment number “EST. 337” inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the product packaging seam. If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
