HyVee Salad Topping Listeria RecallYou can see the package sizes, UPC numbers, and best by dates at the FDA web site. You can also see pictures of product packages at that site. the products were sold in an eight state region. The recall is issued because the products contain SunOpta sunflower kernels that were recalled for Listeria in May 2016.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged container or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Then clean out your pantry, cupboard, or wherever you stored the items with a solution of one tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to one gallon of warm water to kill any remaining bacteria.

If you ate any of the recalled products, watch yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. those symptoms include severe headache, high fever, flu-like symptoms, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and muscle aches. If you do get sick, see your doctor and tell him you ate these recalled products.
