Ice Cream Recalled for Undeclared Cashews

Red Button Vintage Creamery is recalling 124 cases of ice cream because it contains undeclared cashews, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to cashews could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There is no word on whether or not any reactions have been reported because this was listed in the FDA’s Weekly Enforcement ReportĀ for March 23, 2016.

Important RecallThe recalled product is Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream in 56 fluid ounce paper tubs. The lot number is 320 15 61 xx:xx:xx (hour: minute: second) BB and the best by date is 05/16/2017. The UPC number for the recalled product is 077865010048. The package labeled “Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel” ice cream actually contains “Caramel Cashew” ice cream, which presents an allergen threat. The ice cream was sold in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, and Washington state.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to cashews, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it for a refund.
