Kale Chips Recalled for Undeclared Soy

According to the FDA’s Enforcement Report for January 13, 2016, Made in Nature in Boulder, Colorado is recalling Kale Chips because they contain soy, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to soy could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. There is no word on whether or not any reactions have been reported to date.

Recall SignageThe recalled products are Made in Nature Sriracha Chili Kale Chips in 2.2 ounce (62 gram) clamshell containers with a paper sleeve. The UPC number for this product is 720379585044.  The other product that is recalled is Pacific Superfoods Snack Lava Rock Sriracha Kale Chips in 2.2 ounce (62 gram) clamshell container with a paper sleeve. The UPC number for that product is 850747004102. These products were sold nationwide at the retail level.

If you purchased those products and are allergic to soy, do not eat them. Discard the product or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
