Kroger Deluxe S’mores Ice Cream Recalled for Allergens

The FDA reports that The Kroger Co. has recalled its Deluxe S’mores Ice cream sold in retail chains because of undeclared peanut allergens the product may potentially contain. This recall was initiated after Kroger’s supplier, Grain Craft, revealed that one of the ice cream’s ingredients had possibly become contaminated with peanut residue.

Kroger Ice Cream Peanut Recall

The UPC number of the affected Kroger Deluxe S’mores Ice Cream is #0001111001399. It is sold in 48-ounce tubs, marked with the “sell by” dates of either May 20, 2017 or May 23, 2017. Pictures of the product can be viewed here.

Kroger has removed the ice cream from its Kroger, Fred Meyer, Dillons, Baker’s, Fry’s, QFC, Gerbes, Food 4 Less, JayC, King Soopers, City Market, and Smith’s name-branded stores. These stores are located in the states of Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Stores in the states of Louisiana and Texas are not included in the recall.

In addition to removing the product from its store shelves, Kroger has alerted customers to the recall through its customer notification system that contacts all customers through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

If you are allergic to peanuts and purchased this product, you should not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund or replacement.
