Kroger Recalls Broccoli Raisin Salad for Listeria Concerns

Kroger is recalling Broccoli Raisin Salad for possible Listeria contamination because it contains recalled sunflower seeds. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

The stores that carry this product include Kroger, Jay-C, Dillons, Bakers, Gerbes, and Food 4 Less (Mid-West only). Products can be found in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Kroger has removed the item from its store shelves.

The recalled product is Kroger Broccoli Raisin Salad, all sizes, and all use by dates. The UPC number is 0028715820000. If you bought this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Then clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria. Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures.

If you ate any of this product, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. They include severe headache, high fever, nausea, muscle aches, stiff neck, flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
