Listeria Recall for Wellsley Farms Organic, True Goodness, Organic By Nature, Schwan’s Frozen Vegetables

This post was updated May 4 to link to the expanded recall issued by CRF on May 2.

CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington has issued  a recall for frozen vegetables that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

Those most at risk of Listeria infections are young children, pregnant women, seniors and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of listeriosis include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Among pregnant women, listeriosis can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature birth and infection in newborns.

Comments

  1. Jorge Villate says

Does the bag have to have both bar code AND best by date? I purchased the Weslley Farms mixed veggies with same bar code but best by date is 12/2017. Am I stay in danger of contamination?

    • Linda Larsen says

Yes, it has to have the bar code and the best by date. But stay aware of this recall, because companies sometimes expand them to include more products and more dates.

  2. Lisa McGuire says

Meijer store alert – I took my bag of the true goodness frozen peas listed above to the Algonquin store in IL – 400 S. Randall, Algonquin IL and was told at the service desk this item is not recalled and safe to consume – contacting corporate to find out why this store is not aware of current food recalls
