Longo’s Thai Chili Peppers Recalled for Salmonella

In Canada, Veg-Pak Product is expanding the recall of chili peppers for possible Salmonella contamination. On July 6, 2016, they recalled more chili peppers for possible contamination. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. The peppers were sold in Ontario at the retail level.

The recalled product is Longo’s Hot Red Thai Chili Peppers in variable size containers. The UPC number on the recalled products starts with 0200175 and all units sold up to and including July 06, 2016 are recalled.

The recall was triggered by CFIA test results. Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria will not look, smell, or taste spoiled, but can still make you sick. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed or double bagged package in a secure garbage can, or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
