Millville Protein Chewy Bars Recalled for Possible Listeria

Schulze and Burch Biscuit Company is voluntarily recalling Millville Protein Chewy Bars because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. They were sold nationwide through Aldi stores. These products contain sunflower seeds that were recalled.

They include Peanut, Dark Chocolate and Almond Bars and Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Bars. There is zero tolerance for Listeria contamination in ready to eat products.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchases for a refund. Then wash your hands well after handling these products.

Clean out your pantry or cupboards with a mild bleach solution after discarding these products to kill any bacteria. Wash your hands again.

If you ate any of these recalled products, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis, the illness caused by this bacteria, for the next 70 days. Those symptoms are flu-like and include muscle aches, fever, headache, neck stiffness, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. If you do get sick, see your doctor and tell her you ate this recalled product.
